Helen offers this service at festivals, events, parties etc. This can be an alone service or part of the facepainting service as an add on.
Custom stencils are available for additional cost for themed events or if you want your campany logo. The additional cost is to cover drawing the design on the computer, materials to make the stencils and labour.
Helen tries to match the stencils to the theme and ages of the event, for example a Music festival there will be more adult designs. Viking festivals will have more rune, viking, tribal designs. Medieval will have coat of arms, knights, shields, flower flourish, celtic designs.
For parties, the cost is £120 for 2 hours and £60 per hour after. If out of area, fuel and additional time charge will apply. The miniuim booking is 2 hours.
Helen does not reuse vinyl stencils, they are one use.
If you see other artists or princesses and entertainers reusing these types of stencils they are showing poor hygiene, do not be scared, you are allowed to request a new stencil to be used on yourself or report them . You do not want someone elses skin cells sticking to you for 3-4 days, Yuk!!!!
If stamps or Acetate stencils are used, they are cleaned and sprayed with Isopropyl Alcohol Spray between each person.
Like all services a non refundable deposit is taken to secure booking. See Terms and Conditions after images on this page.
FAQ.
01
How much do you charge for a party booking?
Prices start from £120 for a minimum 2hr event. For non-birthday party events please contact the makeup artist
02
Are the the glitters and glues safe?
All glues and glitters are cosmetic.
03
What's the best way to remove the Glitter tattoos?
Glitter tattoos can last a few days but if people need to remove them fast e.g. school or reaction. The best way is soak with baby oil as oil breaksdown the glue.
04
My child has a rash, cut etc. – can they get a glitter tattoo?
It depends where they are having the tattoo and what the problem is. If just a cut and it have a plaster on or scabbed over, then they can have the tattoo on another part of the body the cut isn't. If something attaching like impetigo then the artist will decide. The artist uses dispoasbles where they can to reduce contamination.
05
What is the minimum age you will to get a glitter tattoo?
The minimum age for a child to have a glitter tattoo is 3 years, this is due to the sensitivity of such young skin and safety issues. I will only provide my services on children that can sit on my chair alone, or if nervous on a parents knee. Children must be accompanied at all times & not be left by the parent/carer whilst at my station– my babysitting charges are much higher than my Gloitter tattoo charges!
06
Can glitter tattoos go anywhere on the body? How long does it last?
Like most of my services there is limitations to where these can be put, for example. you often see stock images of glitter tattoos on childs faces. No insured artist would put glitter tattoos on a childs face due to reactions and them rubbing glitter into their eyes even if it is cosmetic and also to get it off for school would be a nightmare and as it drops off in a few days,it may not look great. On a persons bald head away from the face area then yes. Generally children have these on there arms and legs, some adults like them on the should blades, and stomach etc. So basically anywhere apart from face and personal areas.
Glitter tattoos can last a few does but the length of time depends on many factors:
The area you have the glitter tattoo, e.g. under clothing and clothing rubbing it off, back of the hand and hand washing rubbing it off.
The oils in your skin. The glue dissolves with oil so if oily the glitter tattoo will not last as long, or apoplying soaps, creams etc to the area.
Not waiting for the tattoo to dry probably before touching it will effect the length of time.
There are more factors that can effect the length a tattoo can last but generally it a last 1-4 days.
07
What about health & safety?
Glitter tattoos, I use different brushes on each client to apply and dust glitter. The artist uses one use disposable stencils on each client as you do not want someone elses skin cells attached to you for a few days.
As the glue comes in containers with their own wands, even though the artist is still locating disposable brushes that can fit these containers (the artist is actively buying and testing for these), the best thing currently the artist can do is wipe and IPA the skin area for the glitter tattoos of the clients prior to the tattoo application so all germs etc. are killed therefore not contaminating the artist glue pots.
08
Will you work outdoors?
Yes! for Festivals I have my own 3x3 Gazebo with PLI, For birthday partys and small events I require the event organiser to provide a 3x3m shelter as I will not always have time to put up and dismantle theses between jobs
09
Will you work for free?
No.
Would you ask a plumber to fix your taps for free? This is my livelihood, I do this like most people have a 9-5 job. This is not a hobby or top up money. Like you I have to pay bills. The money I quote you is to pay the expenses for glitter, stencils, glues, hygiene products etc. and lastly a small fraction is to pay my time and experience (not the hours cleaning the kit and cleaning products after).
For charities with small events – Each year I choose one charity to donate my time to. Other charity events I suggest the organisers to obtain a sponsor for my services.
For registered charities holding festivals and big family fun days - I can work on a pay per face basis and donate a percentage back to the charity as long as my basic costs have been covered or pay a small pitch fee.
