The designs can be themed to the event and you can add festival glitter, glitter tattoos, face gems and ink tattoos as an add on service with personalised stencils for tattoo designs. Helen also does facepainting for photoshoots and film too.
Helen has a gazebo with insurance for bigger all day events. Helen mainly does pay per hour but will do pay per face at big festivals if there is enough tickets sold. FAQ....
01
How much do you charge?
Prices of parties start from £120 for a minimum of 2 hours and then £60 per additional hour. of Big events and coorperate events these prices are different.
02
How many people can you paint at an event?
Around 10-12 per hour for simple 3-5 minute designs.
03
Are the paints safe?
I only use EU and/or FDA approved face paints Paints are water based.
04
What's the best way to remove the paint?
To remove face paint use liquid soap, activate soap in palm of hand first to cause soap to lather and then massage into face painted area to draw the paint out, the lather will change to a similar colour of the paints used. Then repeat if needed and wash face normally.
Some colours may stain certain skin types more than others, but it should come off in a few more washes.
All paint is water based so if it gets on clothing soap, water and stain remover should remove the paint on most clothing but fabric type, fabric colour and paint colour dependant.
05
My child has a cold sore, ill, has infectious disease – can she be painted?
No. Anything that can contaminate my kit and infect others. If the child also has been unwell withing 24 hours they may not have a facepaint.
There is a list which is not limited to which are in my terms and conditions of people with conditions which cannot have my services, this includes: Cold sores, chicken pox, acne, rashes, eczema, head lice and so forth.
06
What is the minimum age you will paint?
3 years old is the youngest someone can be to have a face paint, no artis in the UKt is insured for children under the age of 3 years old.
Children must be accompanied at all times & not be left by the parent/carer whilst I am painting or in the queue - I am not a baby sitter, this sevice would be greatly higher.
07
What about health & safety?
Health and safetly is an important part of my job. I only use one sponge per face and I only use clean brushes on a person so a brush does not touch another person unless it has been watered, soaped, rinses, cleaned, dried, IPA sprayed and then dried before it can go on another person. My kit is clean between each event. Artists do not just rinse brushes just in dirty water anymore- this has not been done since the early 90's, if you see this at an effect it most likely they have poor hygiene and not insured.
Artist now spray the painted instead of dipping in water for this very reason too.
Pleas so my T & C's for more information on T&C , H&S.
08
Will you work outdoors?
Yes! for Festivals I have my own 3x3 Gazebo with PLI, For birthday partys and small events I require the event organiser to provide a 3x3m shelter as I will not always have time to put up and dismantle theses between jobs
09
Will you work for free?
No.
Would you ask a plumber to fix your taps for free? This is my livelihood, I do this like most people have a 9-5 job. This is not a hobby or top up money. Like you I have to pay bills. The money I quote you is to pay the expenses for glitter, stencils, glues, hygiene products etc. and lastly a small fraction is to pay my time and experience (not the hours cleaning the kit and cleaning products after).
For charities with small events – Each year I choose one charity to donate my time to. Other charity events I suggest the organisers to obtain a sponsor for my services.
For registered charities holding festivals and big family fun days - I can work on a pay per face basis and donate a percentage back to the charity as long as my basic costs have been covered or pay a small pitch fee.
